KENTWOOD, Mich.—New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray will visit Kentwood Wednesday, October 9 to sign copies of her new book, “Eventide.”

Here is the book’s synopsis, according to HarperCollins Publishers:

“In EVENTIDE, Elsie Keim is holding down the fort at the Keim residence. With her father just back from an alcohol treatment center, her mom recovering from pneumonia, her brother recently married and her twin sister engaged, she’s the only one around to keep things running smoothly. This despite the fact that that no one seems to see her as a capable woman-all they see is the thick lenses of her glasses. Those glasses serve as a constant reminder that Elsie is slowly going blind.

Elsie knows there’s much more her to her than her disease. That’s why when new neighbor Landon Troyer shows some interest in her, she doesn’t want anything to disrupt her new romance…even if it means keeping her disease a secret from Landon. Landon is enamored with Elsie. She seems to be honest and faithful, the exact opposite of the last woman he dated. But when Elsie’s brother Roman steps in and shares the truth of Elsie’s illness, Landon is floored. His job is demanding and takes him away from home, sometimes for days at a time. How could he keep up with his responsibilities and take care of Elsie?

In this riveting conclusion to the heartwarming series, three generations of Keims come together to support each other and make their dreams come true. “

“Eventide” is on sale now.  Gray will be signing copies of the book at Baker Book House, located at 2768 East Paris Ave. SE, starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
