The Wyoming Community Enrichment Commission (WCEC) announced today that Kentwood Community Church (KCC) has agreed to an exclusive Title Sponsorship agreement for the 2015 Concerts in the Park Series. In recognition of their support, the series will be renamed to "Concerts in the Park, presented by Kentwood Community Church" for the 2015 season.

Kentwood Community Church is the first full-season sponsor for the Concerts in the Park series.  In addition to renaming the series, the church will also provide activities and entertainment during all 11 concerts scheduled for this year.  Each concert night will have various events, such as family games, kids inflatable equipment, face painting, temporary tattoos, and lots of giveaways, all at no charge.  Follow the series on Facebook (Facebook.com/WyomingCEC) to get up-to-date information on events for each concert night.

“When we launched our Wyoming Campus in 2013, we made a commitment to bless and serve the Wyoming community,” said Rich Avery, the church’s Wyoming Campus pastor. We got involved as a sponsor with the concert series last year, and found it was such a fun and interactive way to engage and serve the community. We are excited to be able to expand our partnership this year and are looking forward to another great season!”

Kentwood Community Church opened its Wyoming campus on October 6, 2013, at 2950 Clyde Park Ave SW, in the former Wyoming Community Education building.  Engagement with the community is a key tenet of the church’s vision. One of the most visible programs offered is the monthly Community Job Fair hosted in partnership with MichiganWorks! on the second Wednesday of each month, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The next job fair on April 8 features 40 employers hiring for over 500 full and part-time positions.

“The WCEC is made up entirely of volunteers, and the majority of the group’s funding is provided through sponsorships and donations,” said Brandon Simmons, Chairperson of the WCEC.  “The generous support of companies and organizations like KCC make the Concerts in the Park series, as well as other programs from the WCEC, possible.  KCC has been a great partner and supporter of the Concert Series, we are excited to have them continue to be part of the concert series and our community.”

Support for the Concert Series has been steadily growing over the past several years.  More than 35 local businesses have already signed on to sponsor the 2015 season.  The annual ten-week concert series runs from June through August every year and features a variety of family friendly performances.  The concerts take place at Lamar Park (2561 Porter Street SW, Wyoming, Michigan) on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
