Kentwood Public Schools posts Holiday concert dates

A complete schedule of all of the upcoming Kentwood Public Schools Holiday concerts has been posted to their website. Dates are listed below.

East Kentwood High School to host District Honors Band

On Wednesday, Nov 10th, East Kentwood High School will be hosting the MSBOA District Ten High School Honors Band.  District Ten represents the five county area around the Grand Rapids metro area from Rockford to Otsego and Lake Michigan to Lake Odessa.  The band is selected through competitive, blind auditions.  The students will rehearse on Wednesday during the day and present a concert that evening at 7:30 PM in the Kentwood Fine Arts Auditorium.  The program is free and open to the public.  This year, the band will be conducted by Scott Boerma, Director of the University of Michigan Marching Band.  
East Kentwood will be represented by the following students:

Former EKHS graduate in ArtPrize top 25

Kentwood, MI - David Huang, a former East Kentwood High School graduate has been voted into the ArtPrize top 25. His piece, Radiant and Efflorescence, is being displayed at the Grand Rapids Public Museum Exhibition Center and can be seen online by viewing his artist profile.

ArtPrize has begun and the KPS family has several entries.  Below is a list with information that has been submitted to me.   It's a perfect weekend to head downtown and take a look.  I'll keep adding to the list should any other entries come to my attention.
