-------------------------NEWS RELEASE---- ROCKFORD, Mich. (Northland Animal Hospital) -- Northland Animal Hospital is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Diane Vander Wall. Originally born and raised in Kentwood, she graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelors Degree in Biology and then went on to graduate from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She developed an interest in acupuncture and herbal therapy during her family's battle with cancer and a growing interest from her clients. In 2005 she continued her education in herbal therapy and then added acupuncture in 2006 and has practiced integrated veterinary medicine (herbal, acupuncture, and traditional medicine) since then. Acupuncture is indicated mainly for functional problems such as those that involve paralysis, noninfectious inflammation (such as allergies), certain endocrine diseases, cancer, and pain. Dr.Vander Wall also takes special interest in oncology (cancer) cases and those cases developing a hospice plan. Using herbal and acupuncture care can extend the quality of life these patients experience and sometimes limit the need for heavy or sedating pharmaceuticals. Eastern medicine is based on traditional Chinese medicine, which roots its philosophy in the idea that ailments are the result of imbalances in the body. To restore good health, the entire body and mind must be balanced and treated, not just the obvious or immediate symptoms. Eastern medicine can support the body's own immune system naturally and is a viable and successful way to treat chronic conditions such as arthritis. We are excited to bring holistic care options to our patients as well as patients who already use a veterinarian for conventional care. Northland Animal Hospital has been providing care in the north Kent County area for over ten years and looks to be West Michigan’s premier wellness center where complementary therapies are integrated with conventional medicine to provide a personalized holistic health care experience. For information on the hospital or to schedule an appointment with Dr. Vander Wall, please contact(616)866-1322.
