My Town Kentwood: Arnie's auctions off equipment ahead of restaurant move

KENTWOOD, Mich.—  Arnie’s is auctioning off its equipment Tuesday, as it prepares to move from its site in front of Centerpointe Mall  into the former home of Newk’s Express Café, just north of 28th Street off East Beltline.

The online auction will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 13 on Orbitbid.com.  Interested shoppers can also visit the former Menard’s building in Centerpoint Mall to post their online bid.  To see the entire list of items up for auction, click here.

KENT COUNTY, Mich.—If you’re looking for a clean, safe place to dine out this weekend, the Kent County Health Department has some suggestions- 471 of them, actually.

The KCHD recently announced the winners of its 2nd annual Food Safety Awards.  This year’s 471 winners were selected from more than 1700 licensed facilities that were inspected through 2013.    To qualify, each establishment had to meet the following criteria:

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– Todd Wenzel Automotive announces the acquisition of their third Michigan dealership, Jim Waldron Buick GMC of Davison.

This purchase represents the second Buick GMC franchise for Todd Wenzel. The first, located in Grand Rapids, was obtained in 2001 followed by a Chevrolet franchise in Hudsonville in 2004.
