A Rockford couple’s work to help those with arthritis will come full circle October 8, as they are honored during the Arthritis Foundation’s Tribute to Excellence event at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.

Dan and Lou Ann Gaydou became advocates for those with arthritis after a previous Tribute to Excellence event, where they met a Grand Valley State University student battling juvenile arthritis.  Since then, their work has included several years on the Tribute to Excellence event committee and garnering more support for the Arthritis Foundation.

“Arthritis is a terrible disease,” says Dan. “Lou Ann and I are thrilled to be honored and even more pleased that we have this special opportunity to further help people with arthritis.”

“Dan and Lou Ann are very special people. Through their dedication to family and friends, and their steadfast commitment to community, they have touched the lives of many. We are grateful for and blessed by their service to the arthritis cause and those served by the work of the Foundation.” says Michelle Glazier, Vice President for the Arthritis Foundation, Michigan.

Arthritis affects 50 million Americans, including 2.3 million adults and 10,300 children in Michigan.  It’s the leading cause of disability in the United States and there is no cure.

The Arthritis Foundation, Michigan provides programs and services to help curb arthritis pain while supporting research to find better treatments and a cure.  The Arthritis Foundation, Michigan is located in My Town Kentwood and Troy.
