The Grand Haven, Spring Lake & Ferrysburg Chamber of Commerce invite residents & visitors to take part in this sand art building activity this Saturday.

After 2 hours of sand creating, individuals, teams & families will be judged and awarded prizes on their unique presentation.

Get your sand sculpture plans & tools in order.The Grand Haven City Beach is the place to be from 8:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, August 13.

The community is invited to bring a blanket or lawn chairs and your own beverages to experience family-friendly entertainment every Thursday evening at 4900 Breton SE. A variety of food trucks will also be present.

Great Lakes Kite Festival Returns

The State Park in Grand Haven comes to life with incredible kite performances this weekend. Don’t miss the fun!

For the 28th year, the world’s best kite flyers - individuals, pairs & teams will be performing continuously on Saturday, May 21 from 10am – 5pm & Sunday, May 22 from 11am – 5pm.

Kite enthusiast and their families are invited to experience different size kites with amazing capabilities controlled by professional kite handlers. There will also be an Open Flying Field to fly your own kite.

Kentwood Pride Day - Community Clean Up on Saturday

The City of Kentwood invites residents to take part in this community-wide cleanup effort.

Between the hours of 8:00am & 2:00pm on May 7, 2016, Kentwood residents with picture Id’s are encouraged to drop off appropriate items at the Kentwood Recycling Center located a 5068 Brenton Avenue. Residents should enter the drive off Breton Avenue and volunteers will assist & approve disposal items.

The Salvation Army will be available to help with your gently used donations, along with Comprenew to assist with electronic waste (fax machines, computers, mobile telephones and other items will be accepted at no charge). CRT screens will not be accepted and need to be dropped off directly at any Comprenew location.

The Kent County Department of Public Works will be available to accept hazardous waste items but not latex paint. Yard Waste and Tires are not, Accepted!

Kentwood Parks & Recreation invite the community to a fun Saturday of disc golf.

Pre-register at the KPR Dept. located at 355 48th St. or call (616)656-5270 to take part in this fun golf event on Saturday, January 30 at the Old Farm Park located at 2350 Embro St. SE in Kentwood, Michigan. Cost is $20 per person plus a canned food donation to benefit The Pantry.

On-site registration / Check-in at 9:00am & a player meeting is scheduled for 10:00am.

The month of October is almost through but before it passes you have an opportunity to help struggling young families, diaper their little ones.

Drop off any size new diaper packages to any of the five participating YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids during regular business hours on Thursday, October 29 or Friday, October 30 to help make a difference for those in need.

Pacers Junior Wheelchair Basketball Team looking for Donations

Grand Rapids Junior Pacers Wheelchair Basketball Team. This special group of people are looking for donations to support their cause.

On November 7 & 8, they will be playing basketball at the Rockford Middle School to make money to help with the expenses they incur when they travel as a team. This season they are traveling to Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Tennessee and Kentucky for national competition. Any money they make will go for equipment along with travel expenses.
