Summer Reading is just around the corner! Starting June 1, the whole family can sign up for Summer Reading @ KDL and have fun reading this summer! This year, the program runs from Friday, June 1 through Friday, August 31.

El Día de los Niños / El Día de los Libros

Celebrate El Día de los Niños / El Día de los Libros (Children’s Day/Book Day) with KDL! A celebration will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 28 at the Kentwood branch. Children of all ages are invited to enjoy traditional Mexican crafts, music, a performance by the dance company Grupo Tarasco and other activities.

Dia! Children’s Day/Book Day, founded by author Pat Mora in 1996, is a daily commitment to link all children to books, languages and cultures.

The movie based on Dr. Seuss’ 1971 book is coming, and in honor of its release we will have all sorts of fun that is funny. Join us and celebrate by making Truffula trees and crafts, playing games and much more during this all-ages event at the following branches:

Saturday, March 3, 10:00 AM – Krause Memorial branch
Tuesday, March 6, 10:00 AM – Kentwood branch
Thursday, March 8, 7:00 PM – Cascade Township branch
Monday, April 2, 1:00 PM – Grandville branch

 Bring your kids to the Kentwood Activity Center for Spring Break!! Participants will begin each day with exciting sports and games, then we split them into groups and they can choose from either the gym, outdoor activity or a variety of arts and crafts!! April 2-6, 7:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. Give us a call or stop in to register!!

Spring Early Childhood Essentials Classes at KDL

Parents and caregivers of children are invited to participate in the Early Childhood Essentials classes at KDL this spring. If you have young children or if you work in child care and need professional development hours, the Early Childhood Essentials series is for you. The classes are for adults and childcare is not provided.
