Ford International Airport Parking

Ford International Airport Parking

This was my first visit to the Gerald R. Ford International Airport since the new parking structure was added and I was very impressed. It was very easy to use, showing me how many open parking spots were available on each floor, and being only a short distance to the sky-walk.

Summer Construction on Forest Hill Avenue

Summer Construction on Forest Hill Avenue

Construction on Forest Hill Avenue from Burton Street north to Hall Street is planned from May to October. The road will be expanded to three lanes at selected locations and include a ten foot wide non-motorized trail on the east side of the street. Due to existing bridge width, the trail will not cross I-96.

Forest Hill Avenue to be reconstructed

Forest Hill Avenue to be reconstructed

Drivers in the Forest Hill Avenue area should prepare for some delays and detours this summer.

The Kent County Road Commission plans to reconstruct Forest Hill Avenue between Cascade Road and Hall Street and widen that section to three lanes. This project will also include curb, sewer, and sidewalk work.

The project will continue in the City of Kentwood between Hall Street and Burton Street. That portion of the project will consist of similar work.

Through traffic to this area will be detoured.

In addition, Forest Hill Avenue, from Cascade Road and Ada Drive will be resurfaced and sidewalks and ramps will be upgraded. One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open during that portion of the construction.
