The City of Kentwood is, once again, able to utilize our Public Works facilities for the leaf dump operations this year. The leaf dump shares a location with the Recycling Center located at 5068 Breton Avenue, east off of Breton, north of 52nd Street and south of City Hall. The leaf dump is in an enclosed area and will be manned with set hours of operation, subject to change as we proceed through the fall. The hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday, 10 AM until 8 PM.  On Sundays, the hours of operation are from 12 noon until 6 PM. The leaf dump will open Saturday, October 15, 2011 and close on Saturday December 3, 2011.

Beat the Heat at the Kentwood Public Library

Beat the Heat at the Kentwood Public Library

The library is a great place to get books, attend free programs, use computers…. and stay cool. With temperatures soaring into the 90s this week, health professionals are encouraging those without air conditioning in their homes to seek out public places that are air-conditioned. Sounds like a great opportunity to visit your local KDL branch! All 18 of our branches are air-conditioned and a wonderful place to work, relax or enjoy time with your children.

If your home is too hot, the library is a cool place to be!
